Birthing Beautiful Communities Construction Project
The AKA Team is the construction manager on the Birthing Beautiful Communities construction project.
Birthing Beautiful Communities is a Black woman led community of birth workers, or doulas, primarily providing social support to pregnant women at highest risk for infant mortality during the perinatal period.

PROJECT LOCATION: 1802 East 65th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44103 (corner of East 65th and Chester Ave.)

PROJECT SCHEDULE: Construction will begin Fall 2024 and is expected to be completed by Fall 2025
​
The structure will be a 15,000 sq. foot 3-story building including 4 birthing suites, exam rooms, BBC corporate offices, community meeting spaces, and even more resources for patients.

The goal for the project is to "serve as a hub for the healing and empowerment for families, equipping them with tools and resources with the intention to increase the likelihood of infant survival up to one year and beyond."

Kick-off Event & Information Session will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 4 - 6 PM at Fatima Family Center, 6600 Lexington Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44103, with remarks from Councilwoman Stephanie Howse-Jones.
